The most important use of Ethylene Urea is in the preparation of Dimethylol Ethylene Urea (DMEU) which is a textile finishing agent giving excellent dimensional stability and crease resistance to cotton blends. It is also used as a formaldehyde scavenger in systems with excess free formaldehyde.
DMEU is easily manufactured by reaction of Ethylene Urea with formaldehyde to give low free formaldehyde resins. DMEU is also used as a catalyst in the stabilisation of the copolymers of trioxane, in dispersion coating, in adhesive formulation.
Ethylene Urea is also used in corrosion inhibitors, in rice starch as viscosity modifier and as a formaldehyde scavenger and for non-formaldehyde resins for textile finishes.

1,3-Dimethyl-2-imidazolidinone (DMI) is a cyclic urea used as a high-boiling polar aprotic solvent. It is colourless, transparent, highly polar and has high thermal and chemical stability.
In many applications, DMI can be used as a substitute or replacement for the carcinogenic solvent HMPA as well as toxic solvent NMP.
DMI has a boiling point of 225 °C, a flash point of 120 °C and a melting point of 8.2 °C. DMI has excellent solvating ability for both inorganic and organic compounds.

N-(2-Hydroxyethyl) Ethylene Urea (2-HEEU) as a raw material, it is used as adhesives, chemical intermediates, paints, colorant and coatings, bioscience, agrochemicals, plastics, polymer, fiber, textile and leather auxiliaries etc.
It reduces VOCs and increases solids level, while maintaining film properties of solvent-based and water-borne industrial baking coatings crosslinked with amino resins.
It significantly improves the gloss and clarity of emulsion-based coatings, and increases the open-time of water-borne systems.

p-Toluene sulphonyl chloride is used in organic synthesis. Also used as a precursor in the production of dyes and saccharin. It acts as a dehydrating agent in the conversion of urea to carbodiimide and converts alcohols into the corresponding toluenesulfonate esters.
It is also employed as a flow-promoting agent for paints, an adhesive, nitrocellulose, coating material and as a plasticizer for polyamides.
